Excited to hear about and evaluate this new VTA / MidPen Housing partnership to create 203 affordable housing units near the Capitol VTA station. It's great to see projects like these with a great mix of affordability, sustainability, and vibrancy. Some features I really appreciate about this project proposal include:

100% affordable housing (203 units) with a mix of sizes to accommodate various family types.
LEED Gold with an eye towards sustainable and environmentally responsible building.
Integration with transit. This is adjacent to VTA light rail and bus lines, and will provide VTA passes for all residents.
Vibrancy with walkable paseos and community gardens.
Current land use is underutilized as a parking lot.

We need more projects like these that help to build housing density and community spaces along transit lines. To learn more, check out VTA’s project page.
